Ghana Betting site Deposit Options

Betting has become much patronised in Ghana, with a majority of the country’s youth adding it to their weekly roster. However, an important aspect of betting is doing your homework before choosing a betting site.

While several betting centers have been opened across the country, many punters prefer to place their bets online in a bid to evade the long queues that usually form at the various centers.

In the global scheme of betting, Paypal, Skrill, bank wire and Neteller are all deposit options but they are not available in Ghana yet.

Fortunately, there are a number of deposit methods available for punters in Ghana. The likes of Betway, Soccabet, Betika, Betpawa, Permierbet, Melbet, 22bet, iXbet and Odibets have similar localised deposit options.

This article, therefore, seeks to discuss the common methods for making deposits with online betting sites in Ghana.

Mobile Money

The commonest way by which punters can make deposits on Ghanaian betting sites is through mobile money transactions.

There are different shortcodes for the various telecommunications networks to be used to make deposits. Betway, for instance, requires MTN users to dial *170#, select “Paybill”, choose “General Payments”, enter payment code BETWAY and enter the deposit amount.

The shortcode is different for other networks but the process is similar for all the other betting sites.

Visa/ Mastercard

Punters can also make deposits on betting sites using their Visa debit card or MasterCard. This can be done by accessing the deposit page of the betting site and following due process.

One can do this by selecting “Credit/Debit Card”, choose “Pay with new card”, enter your deposit amount and click “Proceed”, enter card details and proceed to pay.

Voucher

The other deposit option that is available to punters is to buy a deposit voucher. These vouchers are usually sold at the various betting shops and have a 15 or 16-digit code.

This code is to be entered on the betting website to unload the purchased amount onto the punter’s online wallet.
