You are not the only person who can be attacked by enemies - they can also fight each other. Sometimes you can use this to your advantage and, for example, lure a bandit into a group of monsters. If you're lucky, the enemies can kill each other, and you'll only need to kill those who survived. Another good idea is to lure enemies to friendly NPCs, such as guards. They must be able to fight the beast. However, you must remember that using this method will not earn you experience points.
Barrels of oil can be found in some places. Hitting them causes an immediate explosion that does a lot of damage. You can use this to your advantage and destroy barrels from a distance using, for example, a bow. This can weaken your enemies, and in some cases even kill them.
You can meet monsters with a skull next to their name. This means that this enemy is impossible to defeat at your current level. If you see this icon, you should move away from this monster as soon as possible.
Hand-to-hand combat
The use of cold steel is the main way to destroy enemies. You can find out about this immediately after launching the game. This style is quite demanding, and there are two important things to keep in mind during fights.
The stripe marked in the picture is useful during attack sequences (combos are more useful than single attacks). You start the fight with an empty lane, and each attack fills it up a bit. If you want to complete the sequence, you must tap before the bar starts to run out. When you complete half of the scale, you will be able to perform a special attack that deals more damage. You should also remember to parry and dodge attacks - this will help you reduce the damage you can take.
It is very important to manage your stamina. You can see it right next to the health bar. Each attack depletes it, and when the lane is empty, you won't be able to use attacks. This means that you have to keep an eye on it, and when you are close to running out of it, you should move away from the enemy and avoid his attacks.
Other useful hand-to-hand combat abilities:
Melee weapons and attack power - Increase melee damage.
Parry Power - Reduces the effect of pushing your character away while parrying.
Heavy Punch - increases the damage from special attacks.
Jet Pack Attack - allows you to perform attacks when you use a jetpack.
The Warrior Spell Aspect (for the Berserker faction only) - unlocks a spell that temporarily increases your melee damage.
